About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sous Chef – Pastry to join Jumeirah Al Qasr. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assist the Pastry Chef in creating and delivering exquisite pastries, desserts, and plated creations that reflect Jumeirah’s culinary excellence.

  • Lead and mentor junior pastry staff, ensuring impeccable execution, consistency, and adherence to the highest hygiene and presentation standards.

  • Manage pastry inventory efficiently, forecast requirements, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain premium ingredient quality.

  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety and sanitation in all pastry operations.

  • Collaborate in the development of innovative menus, seasonal offerings, and signature desserts that enhance the guest experience.

  • Support pastry production during peak periods, ensuring timely, flawless delivery while maintaining a pristine, organized kitchen environment.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in culinary, Pastry or any other relevant field.

  • Proven experience in luxury hotels or high‑end patisseries, with strong pastry and dessert skills.

  • Ability to lead, train, and supervise a pastry team while ensuring hygiene and quality standards.

  • Knowledge of inventory management, food safety and kitchen organization.

  • Creative flair with experience in dessert plating, menu development, and seasonal offerings.
