Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Junior Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) to support the commissioning of a 200MW data center project. You will verify, test, and document mechanical systems to ensure they meet the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BoD).

You will assist in planning and executing test scripts, witness FATs and SATs, maintain records, and coordinate with MEP trades to ensure smooth commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical commissioning or MEP/building services.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and data center cooling.
• Familiarity with commissioning standards (ASHRAE Guideline 0/1.1, IPMVP).
• Preferred CCP/ATP certifications or chartership under way.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of commissioning plans, test scripts, and functional performance tests for mechanical systems.
• Witness and document FATs and SATs.
• Assist with pre-functional checklists, startup verification, and commissioning activities.
• Track punch lists/issues logs and follow up on resolution with contractors.
• Review mechanical shop drawings, submittals, and O&M documentation for design intent.
• Support IST coordination between mechanical, electrical, and controls trades.
• Maintain accurate commissioning records, test data, and reports per CxA standards.
• Attend site walks, coordination meetings, and commissioning progress meetings.
