Job summary

A leading financial organization in Dubai is seeking a Junior Cost Accountant to support the finance team. The role involves tracking and analyzing costs related to production and inventory while ensuring compliance with UAE accounting standards. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and have up to 2 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is beneficial. Qualifications

Job description

The Junior Cost Accountant will support the finance team in tracking, analyzing, and controlling costs related to production, inventory, and operations. The role ensures accurate cost data to support pricing, budgeting, and profitability analysis in compliance with UAE accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and updating product costing, bill of materials (BOM), and standard costing.
  • Track and analyze direct materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Support month-end cost accounting processes, including cost variance analysis.
  • Assist in inventory valuation, stock reconciliation, and slow-moving/obsolete inventory analysis.
  • Prepare cost reports for management, highlighting variances and cost trends.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting exercises related to production and operating costs.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing cost and inventory data.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and documentation in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics or similar).
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to validate cost data.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, IFRS standards, and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Perform ad-hoc cost analysis and financial tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
