Job Title: Specialist Rotating Engineer KBR Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently seeking experienced professionals for the position listed below in support of a major Offshore Project. The role will be based at either the Client's Office or the Contractor's Office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Job Purpose
The Specialist Rotating Engineer will provide specialist technical leadership for the engineering, design, selection, procurement, and technical management of rotating equipment for ADNOC Offshore projects. The position will ensure equipment complies with ADNOC requirements, applicable international codes, project specifications, and reliability objectives throughout the project lifecycle from FEED through commissioning and start-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead rotating equipment engineering and design activities for offshore oil and gas facilities.
- Review and approve rotating equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and vendor documentation.
- Provide specialist engineering support for the selection and design of: o Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors o Gas turbines o Steam turbines o Pumps o Blowers and fans o Diesel engines o Generators o Packaged equipment
- Ensure rotating equipment designs comply with ADNOC standards and applicable API, ISO, ASME and IEC requirements.
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, and Procurement disciplines to ensure effective multidisciplinary engineering integration.
- Review vendor technical proposals and participate in technical clarification activities.
- Provide technical support during procurement, inspection, testing and FAT activities.
- Support construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of rotating equipment.
- Participate in engineering and safety reviews including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, design reviews and constructability reviews. These activities are identified for comparable KBR rotating-equipment leadership roles on ADNOC Offshore projects.
- Resolve technical queries, engineering deviations, equipment interfaces and site issues during project execution.
- Monitor engineering deliverables and equipment-package schedules to support timely project execution.
- Provide specialist technical input for equipment reliability, maintainability, operability and lifecycle performance.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
- Professional Engineering certification is preferred for comparable KBR ADNOC Offshore rotating-equipment engineering positions.
Experience & Competencies
For recruitment screening, I would recommend the following criteria:
- Extensive experience in Rotating Equipment Engineering within Oil & Gas EPC/PMC projects.
- Strong experience in offshore oil & gas projects, preferably ADNOC / Middle East projects.
- Detailed technical knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines and packaged rotating equipment.
- Strong experience with FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, vendor engineering, FAT, construction and commissioning.
- Excellent understanding of API and other applicable international rotating-equipment standards.
- Previous experience working within a PMC / Owner’s Engineer environment would be highly desirable.
- Strong vendor coordination, technical bid evaluation and multidisciplinary interface-management skills.
- Ability to independently resolve complex rotating equipment engineering issues.
