Job Title: IT Financial Management Consultant

Department: Technology

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Duration: 2-3 months (Secondment)

Reporting to: Digital Strategy & Governance Director

Role Summary

To support business planning activities by consolidating and classifying existing spend, reviewing financial contracts, and enabling accurate CAPEX and OPEX projections for upcoming initiatives. The consultant will work closely with business architects to create financial transparency and discipline across the planning cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with technology leadership to coordinate the annual/long-term planning cycle.
  • Support the development of cost estimation models, phased implementation plans, and cost profiles across opex and capex.
  • Conduct contract and spend reviews to establish a baseline for current OPEX.
  • Support spend classification by domain, service, and financial category.
  • Validate invoices, identify anomalies, and assess cost allocation logic.
  • Assist in building initiative-specific business cases with financial breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with the Business Architect to align budget assumptions with scope and design.
  • Provide financial models to challenge budget requests and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Support the planning team with budget templates, dashboards, and cost benchmarks.
  • Consolidate all existing IT contracts related to licenses, support, and implementation into a centralized repository.
  • Forecast OPEX and CAPEX based on initiative pipeline and past spending trends.
  • Analyse and align contractual terms with business plans and financial forecasts.
  • Break down financial components of IT projects and initiatives to provide cost transparency.
  • Develop financial dashboards and performance tracking tools.
  • Coordinate with procurement, legal, and vendor management teams to ensure compliance.

Core Competencies

  • 10+ years in IT Financial Management or related role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or IT
  • Strong knowledge of IT financial management processes and practices
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; knowledge of tools like Power BI is a plus
  • Understanding of IT asset management and lifecycle planning
