Job summary

Stantec in Dubai is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our Middle East operations. You will design and detail instrumentation and control systems for sewerage treatment plants, create P&IDs, and develop field instrument and PLC I/O lists.

The ideal candidate holds a BE in Instrumentation & Control with 10–15 years’ experience, and has hands-on knowledge of Siemens, Rockwell, PLCs and Emerson DCS.

Qualifications

• BE in Instrumentation & Control engineering or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Siemens, Rockwell Automation, PLCs and Emerson DCS plus MS Office.
• Middle East project experience is a plus, and knowledge of ISA/IEC/NEMA standards helps.

Responsibilities

• Concept design and detail design for instrumentation and control systems at sewerage treatment plants.
• Create P&ID diagrams and generate PLC I/O lists from P&IDs.
• Prepare cable schedules, route diagrams, conduit layouts and instrument installation details.
• Design control system architecture, network diagrams and panel elevations.
• Coordinate with Civil/Mech/Process teams and communicate project status to internal clients.
• Prepare technical specifications, scope of work and BOQ documents.

Due to the continued success of our Middle East operations, we are looking for a Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our operations in Dubai.

Responsibilities

• Concept Design and detail design development for tender and or construction level of instrumentation and control systems of Sewerage Treatment plants.
• Design of Process and Instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's)
• Generate field instruments, PLC I/O lists from P&IDs
• Prepare Cable schedule and cable route diagrams and conduit development
• Prepare Instrument location plans and instrument installation details
• Design of Control System Architecture / Network diagrams
• Design of Panel Elevation drawings and GA, loop / wiring diagrams and control schematics.
• Design of Electrical equipment layout and plans
• Prepare technical specifications, scope of work and BOQ documents.
• Prepare basic control philosophy for the plant control system
• Prepare datasheets and purchase specifications for field instruments and control system
• Update Project website for latest information
• Coordination with Civil / Mech / Process and other disciplines
• Communicate with global internal clients for input information and project status
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor / management.

Qualifications

• B.E. Instrumentation & Control
• 10 - 15 years
• Experience on Siemens, Rockwell Automation, PLC and Emerson DCS, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel etc.), is must.
• Experience in Middle East region project will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of International standards like ISA, BS, IEC, NEMA
• Good Communication skills, Presentation Skills, Learning Attitude, Good grasping power and should be a good team member.
• Knowledge of Water / Wastewater treatment process, O&G sectors will be added advantage.
