Job summary

GEMS Education in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a primary teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the British Curriculum and our school framework. The role requires strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of primary pedagogy.

You will set clear objectives, differentiate for diverse learners, promote literacy and numeracy, and incorporate technology while upholding safeguarding and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, purposeful and challenging lessons aligned with the British Curriculum and the school's curriculum framework.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and understanding of primary pedagogy.
• Establish clear learning objectives and success criteria.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to engage pupils with different abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
• Provide appropriate challenge and support through adaptive teaching and differentiation.
• Develop pupils' independence, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Promote high standards of literacy, numeracy, communication and presentation.
• Integrate appropriate technology and digital learning tools into teaching.
• Maintain high expectations for pupil behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Incorporate UAE culture, heritage and appropriate local context into learning experiences where relevant.
• Use formative assessment effectively to identify pupils' strengths, misconceptions and next steps.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil attainment and progress.
• Administer and analyse school-based assessments in accordance with school procedures.
• Identify pupils requiring additional intervention or challenge.
• Provide constructive feedback that enables pupils to improve their learning
• Provide an inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels valued and supported
• Implement the school's behaviour policy consistently.
• Establish professional and positive relationships with parents.
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly through the school's established procedures
