Job summary

A leading provider of military vehicle services in the UAE is looking for a Quality Control Inspector. The role involves conducting inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards for military vehicles and components. Candidates should have a technical degree and prior experience in quality control or inspection, preferably within a military context. Effective communication in English is essential, and familiarity with quality control tools is preferred. This position offers the opportunity to work in a crucial support role for UAE Armed Forces.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Quality control inspections of crafting for military vehicles or products to Identify defects and ensure crafting quality.
  • Inspect raw materials, components, and finished products at various stages of the crafting process to ensure they meet established quality standards.
  • Involve performing inspections and testing on materials and finished products to ensure adherence to specifications, military standards, and customer expectations.
  • Use measurement tools and gauges to verify dimensions, appearance, and other product specifications.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance and Engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in the crafting process
  • Verify all maintenance/repair tasks have been completed as per the job plan.
  • Verify that all faults noted on the maintenance order or maintenance notification have been corrected.
  • Conduct spot checks on equipment/spares/electrical components/testing, measuring and diagnostic equipment etc. as necessary, and verify incoming and outgoing components/equipment to ensure serviceability and readiness.
  • Conduct joint quality control inspections with the General Maintenance Corps (GMC)/Unit representatives when necessary.
  • Interact directly with mechanics, senior mechanics, supervisors, managers, and internal and external customers to resolve quality related issues.
  • Conduct classification inspections to determine item serviceability and process items for customer condemnation approval as required.
  • Prepare Material Deficiency Reports (MDRs) for any defective materials identified.
  • Validate language instructions and directions are correct on the crafting.
  • Ensure obsolete parts are removed, repairable items are properly identified and tracked, and that spares are properly staged when working in the material stores.
  • Prepare and submit reports as requested by the Assistant Manager, QC.
  • Compile and analyse for recommendations all applicable quality control/defects data requested by the Assistant Manager, QC.
  • Work as part of a team to verify the root cause analysis of any customer related rejects/warranty concerns.
  • Support other members of the Quality team in fulfilling their roles.
Experience and Education
  • Two year technical degree/diploma is required, in a subject relevant to the specific Inspector, QC opening is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a quality control or inspection role, particularly in a crafting or manufacturing environment, is preferred
  • Familiarity with quality control tools, techniques, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma, or similar certifications)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Practitioner certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of previous experience working with military vehicles, components, assemblies, small arms, spares, or in failure analysis, engineering and welding (as required by the specific opening) is required.
  • Previous experience as an Inspector, QC is an advantage.
  • A minimum of one year in a senior position working with military vehicles, components, assemblies, small arms, spares, or in failure analysis, engineering and welding is preferred.
  • An ability to read and interpret technical/owner’s manuals is required.
  • Knowledge and use of measuring instrument/equipment related to the functional area is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to verify the accuracy of a finished product is required.
  • Knowledge of failure modes effect analysis is preferred.
  • Knowledge of validation/verification methods is an advantage.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software is required.
  • Knowledge in the use of CMMS packages and SAP production and quality modules is an advantage.
  • An ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally is required.
  • An ability to communicate effectively in Arabic both in writing and reading is preferred.
