Job summary

The Boring Company is seeking an experienced HR leader to manage benefits, compensation, payroll, onboarding, and employee relations across the UAE. The role requires strong knowledge of UAE labor law and strategic HR leadership.

You will partner with managers, oversee performance, investigations, and ensure compliance while driving HR initiatives and system improvements across multiple UAE locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership position.
• 5+ years of HR experience in the UAE
• Strong working knowledge of UAE labor laws and work requirements

Responsibilities

• Point of contact for all HR matters such as but not limited to benefits, compensation, training, payroll, and employee relations.
• Manage performance, investigations, make recommendations for corrective action, and lead terminations.
• Maintain a productive relationship with managers in UAE; meet regularly to discuss morale, areas of improvement, and performance.
• Review and respond to matters complex in nature that have been escalated due to risk, urgency, or severity.
• Manage the integration, configuration, and administration of HR systems.
• Outline team priorities and timelines and manage team performance toward achieving goals.
• Primary point of contact for entire UAE operation.
• Key partner with HR operations on HR systems including onboarding, workers compensation, and LOA management
• Approve time cards, modify pay rates, implement one-off payments, and ensure payment of salaried and hourly employees bi-weekly.
• Facilitate the new-hire onboarding process, including generating offer letters, and auditing background checks.
• Lead HR initiatives and projects.
• Set up and work with legal to outline and comply with legal requirements as required by UAE Labor Law.

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership position.
• 5+ years of HR experience in the UAE
• Strong working knowledge of UAE labor laws and work requirements

• 8+ years of experience in an HR leadership position.
• Acute attention to detail and strong multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and with little direction.
• Ability to quickly and reasonably prioritize tasks.
• Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
• An analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data.
• Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.

Additional Requirements

• Position may require extended hours and weekend work.
• Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed. Up to 20% travel.

Reporting Location: Dubai, UAE (multiple local locations)
