Job summary

A prominent UAE company is looking for a Health and Safety Manager to oversee the development and implementation of a robust Health, Safety, and Environment Management System. The successful candidate will organize safety meetings, conduct training for employees, and maintain compliance with safety regulations. A Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety Engineering, along with OSHAD and NEBOSH certifications, is required. Job description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, Implement and Monitor the Effectiveness of Health, Safety and Environment Management System within the company.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and Environment by organizing monthly safety meetings and by providing the necessary feedback to the employees concerning HSE through suggestions provided by the employees.
  • Create annual HSE Goals, monthly topics and maintain HSE notice boards.
  • Communicate and liaise with authority (I.e. Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi, Civil Defense, OSHAD) regarding issues related to Environment and Fire Safety.
  • Apply where appropriate, Customer’s Health, Safety and Environment policy and Safety Management Systems.
  • Coordinate and provide training to employees on general safety and HSE oriented courses and provide safety induction & training to all employees.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and provide safety information to the facility employees.
  • Carry out risk assessments where applicable.
  • Conduct HSE audits as required.
  • Monitor & replenish First-aid supplies in all applicable locations around the facility.
  • Prepare safety statistics and related reports for Management when required.
  • Works assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • And/or any other tasks/projects as assigned by Management.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and Regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with company Quality, Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop HSE Plan, HSE programs & procedures.
  • Ability to investigate / analyze incidents and apply different root cause analysis techniques.
  • OSHAD & NEBOSH Certificates required.
