Job Description – HSE Officer (3-Month Contract)

Contract Duration: 3 Months

Role Overview

The HSE Engineer will be responsible for implementing monitoring and enforcing Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures at the construction site. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with statutory requirements minimizing workplace risks and promoting a strong safety-first culture to prevent accidents and incidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor HSE plans risk assessments and site-specific safety procedures.

  • Conduct regular site inspections safety audits and toolbox talks to identify hazards and ensure compliance with HSE standards.

  • Enforce the proper use of PPE and safe work practices among employees subcontractors and visitors.

  • Investigate incidents near misses and accidents; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation including incident reports inspection checklists training records and safety meeting minutes.

  • Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure availability and functionality of first aid and fire-fighting equipment.

  • Promote a positive HSE culture through safety awareness initiatives and training programs.

  • Monitor compliance with local labor laws environmental regulations and client/company HSE policies.

  • Liaise with client HSE representatives and participate in safety meetings as required.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly HSE reports to management and clients.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of local and international HSE standards and regulations (OSHA ISO 45001 NEBOSH NFPA).

  • Solid understanding of construction safety practices and risk management.

  • Good communication coordination and report-writing skills.

  • Physically fit and willing to work full-time on active construction sites.

  • Must hold own valid visa with NOC.

Preferred Qualifications
  • NEBOSH IGC IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety certification.

  • First Aid Fire Safety and Working at Height certifications.

  • Experience in high-risk construction environments (e.g. data centers infrastructure tunneling) is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001) is a plus.
