Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to oversee contracts and ensure safety compliance in line with UAE regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and a NEBOSH certification, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills are essential. Previous experience in the UAE/GCC is mandatory. This role is pivotal for maintaining site safety and coordinating with project managers.

HSE Engineer

We are hiring a highly experienced HSE Engineer with a background in Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing contracts, executions, and compliance across multiple disciplines in line with UAE regulations.

The duties of the Safety Engineer shall include but not be limited to the following tasks:

• Conduct and / or Participate in COMPANY safety audits for CONTRACTOR and Sub CONTRACTORCarry on risk assessment as directed by COMPANY Senior HSE Engineer.
• Review the contract documents for each Construction Package in respect of Safety requirements and procedures and advise the Project Manager of any deficiency.
• Review and comment to the Project Manager, on SITE safety organizations and key personnel CV’s as submitted by the CONTRACTORS.
• Review Safety Procedures as submitted by the CONTRACTORS and ensure implementation is in compliance with CONTRACT requirements.
• Review Inspection, Test, and Plans as submitted by the CONTRACTORS and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Ensure all activities on site are in compliance with safety procedures in respect of the format signed off by CONTRACTOR’S Safety Officer.
• Ensure CONTRACTOR’S safety staff are adequate on site and report to the Project Manager in case of shortfall.
• Review CONTRACTOR’S safety records, documents to ensure major construction equipment is maintained regularly.
• Ensure CONTRACTORS safety training for SITE laborers are regularly maintained.
• Ensure CONTRACTORS laborers on SITE are following safety procedures and report to Project Manager in case of deficiency.
• Closely monitor site activities, on a daily basis, issuing non-compliance and submit reports to the Project Manager.
• Participate in weekly meetings and monthly executive meetings.
• Coordinating with COMPANY Senior HSE Engineer to ensure that HSE policy is implemented by Contractors.
• Participate with PMC staff in reviewing and assessing of Closeout Report as submitted by CONTRACTOR.
• Carryout accident/incident investigation as directed by COMPANY Senior HSE Engineer and prepare the Report, accordingly.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering & NEBOSH.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, industrial and structural.
• Familiarity with UAE regulations and authority procedures is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Previous UAE/GCC experience is mandatory.
