Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Dubai Festival City is seeking a Painter/Polisher to join the Engineering team. The role involves applying paint, stain, primers and finishes to walls, ceilings and furniture, using brushes, spray guns or rollers, and ensuring surfaces are protected.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of painting and polishing experience, basic English communication, and a proactive, guest-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in painting and polishing.
• Basic English communication skills.

• Adhere to all Engineering Department policies and procedures.
• Report issues promptly to management, along with practical suggestions for resolution.
• Take initiative to clarify job responsibilities and seek opportunities for skill and knowledge enhancement.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues in a professional manner.
• Ensure smooth shift transitions through clear and effective communication.
• Stay updated with technological or procedural changes through internal or external training.

Responsibilities

• Apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, and burning.
• Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate signs.
• Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas.
• Exert physical effort in transporting miscellaneous items (20-60 Kg) throughout all areas of the hotels.
• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
• Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
• Participate in the preventive maintenance program of all-building equipment and rooms.
