Dubai American Academy, part of GEMS Education, invites applications for outstanding High School Physics Teachers to join from August 2027. We seek educators with experience in American or IB curricula who can ignite curiosity and deliver rigorous, inquiry-based physics instruction.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree together with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, State License, or equivalent specialising in Physics.
• Have proven experience teaching Physics at High School level, ideally within an American or IB curriculum school.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and practical science instruction.
• Be an excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Show a commitment to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive Physics lessons to high school students, following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement creative and effective teaching strategies to inspire a love for Physics and foster critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Ensure continuity in the delivery of curriculum content.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment opportunities and professional learning.
