Job summary

Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Healthcare Aide to support the Paediatric Outpatient Department. You will assist physicians and nurses, prepare examination rooms, and help maintain a safe, child-friendly environment.

You will collect basic clinical information from parents, monitor vital signs, and support vaccination and routine procedures while ensuring confidentiality and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Healthcare Assistance or a nursing assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist pediatricians and nurses in providing care to infants, children, and adolescents during outpatient visits.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms before patient appointments.
• Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, height, weight, and head circumference (for infants).
• Support patient assessment by collecting basic medical history and relevant information from parents or caregivers.
• Help maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
• Provide age-appropriate comfort and reassurance to children to reduce anxiety during consultations and procedures.
• Assist with specimen collection and transportation as directed.
• Prepare equipment and supplies required for examinations, immunizations, and minor procedures.
• Assist healthcare professionals during vaccinations, dressings, wound care, and other outpatient procedures.
• Educate parents and caregivers on basic health, hygiene, medication administration, and follow-up care as directed by clinicians.
• Monitor patients in the waiting and treatment areas and promptly report any concerns to the nursing or medical team.
• Maintain cleanliness, infection prevention, and safety standards within the clinic.
• Ensure adequate stock of medical supplies and report shortages.
• Support referral processes and coordination of follow-up appointments.
• Respond appropriately to pediatric emergencies while seeking immediate assistance from the healthcare team.
• Promote a child-friendly, safe, and supportive environment for patients and their families
