Dubai British School Jumeira (DBSJ), part of the Dubai British Schools family, is seeking an exceptional Head of Learning and Growth to join our Executive Leadership Team in August 2026. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new, state-of-the-art British curriculum school in Dubai. Job Purpose

The Head of Learning and Growth is a senior leader within the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) responsible for driving a culture of professional excellence across the school. This role ensures that all teachers and staff are supported, developed, and inspired to deliver the highest quality of learning to all students aged 3–18. Rooted in DBSJ’s vision, this role strategically leads ongoing work to enhance learning for staff and students in alignment with DBSJ’s guiding documentation. The post holder will ensure professional learning is meaningful, cyclical, aligned with the school’s core competencies, and grounded in impactful classroom practice. Through partnership with colleagues in Primary, Secondary, Inclusion, and Arabic & Islamic leadership, the role champions a coherent and continuous approach to teaching and learning enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continual refinement of the school’s professional learning and growth strategy.
  • Embed the DBSJ approach to learning across all phases, ensuring alignment with guiding documentation and school philosophy.
  • Act as a collaborative partner to the Head of Primary, Head of Secondary, Head of Inclusion, and Head of Arabic and Islamic, aligning professional growth with department goals.
  • Provide expert input to ELT strategic planning to keep teaching quality and staff development at the heart of school priorities.

Professional Learning Design & Delivery

  • Oversee annual and long-term professional development planning, ensuring opportunities are tailored, timely, and impact-driven.
  • Design and lead learning pathways for all staff that mirror personalised learning for students.
  • Facilitate whole-school training sessions, professional learning groups and collaborative inquiry cycles.
  • Support adult learning practices as staff develop and lead professional learning for educators connected to DBSJ.
  • Guide staff in meaningful goal setting, reflection, and evidence-based professional growth planning.
  • Drive a culture of evidence-based professional learning and promote DBSJ as an organization where professional learning is celebrated beyond the immediate school environment.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact

  • Develop and lead systems to evaluate the effectiveness of professional development and its impact on student learning.
  • Support and coach educators in effective learning design, feedback processes, and classroom culture.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to align professional learning with school improvement outcomes and inspection frameworks.

Culture and Collaboration

  • Build a culture of continuous improvement, shared expertise, coaching and professional curiosity.
  • Promote equity and inclusion in all learning opportunities to ensure access for all staff.
  • Act as a role model of DBSJ’s values and a champion of Live it. Learn it. Lead it.

Our School & Curriculum

Dubai British School Jumeira is part of the Taaleem family of schools and serves more than 1600 students aged 3–18. Desirable

  • Master’s degree in education or leadership
  • Experience across multiple age phases (EYFS to KS5)
  • Familiarity with KHDA, DSIB or British international school frameworks
  • Accreditation as an instructional coach, NPQH or similar qualification
  • Experience working in international contexts & different curriculum models
