Job summary

Wood Group seeks a senior Head of Department – Controls Instrumentation & Telecommunication to lead the discipline for onshore and offshore projects in Abu Dhabi. You will drive engineering excellence, manage Lead Discipline Engineers, ensure safety and quality, and guide capability development across teams.

Role requires deep knowledge of C&I disciplines, substantial project delivery experience, and a track record of leading high-performing groups within a global energy context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline required.
• 25+ years of experience in onshore/offshore mega projects (Capex > USD 2B).
• Minimum 5 years as Head of Discipline or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience in ASSESS, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design phases.
• Extensive experience with ANSI, IEC, ISA, API, NFPA, NEMA, EN, CENELAC, ATEX, ISO codes and ME client specs.

Responsibilities

• Drive HSSEA culture and performance across the discipline team.
• Provide leadership to Lead Discipline Engineers for onshore and offshore projects.
• Ensure safe, high-quality delivery and governance of discipline practices.
• Develop and improve discipline engineering systems, tools, and processes.
• Support project delivery through governance, reviews and continuous improvement.
