Job summary

Gamma Holdings is seeking a Head of Inclusion for a UK curriculum school in Dubai to lead SEN policy and provision across the campus. The role requires strong knowledge of the KHDA Inclusion framework and proven UAE experience at DSIB-level schools.

You will oversee the inclusion team, coordinate with admissions, phase heads and external professionals to assess needs, develop IEPs, and monitor progress, reporting to parents with regular updates.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a successful Inclusion team in the UAE and having led DSIB inspections.
• Experience developing and overseeing SEN policies and provision.
• Ability to liaise with parents, teachers and external agencies to implement IEPs.

Head of Inclusion

We are currently recruiting a well-qualified and experienced Head of Inclusion to join our reputed UK curriculum school in Dubai. The role requires a thorough understanding of the KHDA Inclusion framework and experience with schools of repute in UAE.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the strategic development of special education needs policy and provision in the school to support individual student needs.
• Lead the inclusion team, manage learning support teachers, LSAs and support staff to improve pupil progress and attainment.
• Use a variety of assessment tools to identify students’ needs.
• Work with admissions team and phase heads to ensure all prospective students are accurately assessed prior to enrollment.
• Monitor and assess SEN students & Gift and talented students’ progress and attainment through observations in the classroom and meetings with teachers and parents.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor IEPs.
• Provide regular updates on pupil progress through written reports and meetings with parents.
• Make referrals and liaise with professionals including psychologists, health and social care providers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
• Provide advice, guidance and training to classroom teachers on supporting pupils with SEN.
• Support teachers to develop modified lesson plans, schemes of work and learning programmes for pupils with SEN.
• Support teachers to implement effective teaching and behaviour management approaches in the classroom.
• Manage and advise on the resources for SEN provision.
• Lead CPD briefings, projects and activities.
• Develop and maintain systems for keeping pupil records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
• Manage the inclusion register and associated documents for accuracy and transparency.
• Oversee the teaching and support of our SEND and G&T students across the school.
• Liaise with all stakeholders including parents, external therapists and external providers; analyse school local and national data and develop strategies and interventions.
• Keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and cascade information to colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education.
• A certified teaching qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a successful Inclusion team in the UAE and having led DSIB inspections.
