Job summary

A finance management company located in the UAE is seeking a Head of Finance to oversee the company's financial strategy, ensuring compliance and strong risk management. The successful candidate will lead budgeting and financial planning, manage financial reporting and internal controls, and drive efficiency across finance operations. An advanced degree along with certifications such as CPA or CFA is preferred, with at least 15 years of experience in finance roles. Fluency in Arabic and English is required.

  • The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing the Company’s financial strategy, budgeting, compliance, and risk management.
  • The role ensures financial sustainability, effective resource allocation, and alignment with the Company’s strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Responsibilities
  • Oversee Company’s financial planning and budgeting processes to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory disclosures in compliance with IFRS and UAE financial standards.
  • Manage financial reporting frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for decision-making.
  • Implement internal financial controls to enhance risk management and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and oversee the adoption of ERP systems and financial management tools to improve financial efficiency.
  • Monitor cash flow management, working capital, and liquidity to optimize financial performance.
  • Collaborate with investment and portfolio management teams to integrate financial planning with asset allocation strategies.
  • Optimize cost management processes, improving financial efficiency across operational units.
  • Provide leadership in the finance function, supporting debt issuance programs and capital structuring.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and consultants to ensure best-in-class financial governance.

  • Detailed Roles and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the company’s financial planning and budgeting processes to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. Develop Company’s annual budgets in collaboration with all departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial constraints.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory disclosures in compliance with IFRS and UAE financial standards.
  • Manage financial reporting frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for decision-making.
  • Implement internal financial controls to enhance risk management and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and oversee the adoption of ERP systems and financial management tools to improve financial efficiency.

  • Ensure alignment between Finance objectives and the strategic goals of the organization, while also considering the needs and objectives of individual departments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favourable terms, and optimize spending.
  • Lead and manage a team of Finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine Finance processes, systems, and policies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall Finance performance.
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure Finance performance, track progress, and identify opportunities for further improvement in accordance of the company’s BSC
  • Financial Feasibility of new leases, concepts: Discuss the new opportunities with leasing, support on developing a financial feasibility with benchmarking to similar internal and external offerings, assess the long-term viability with the changing economic conditions, recommend the execution or nonexecution.
  • Support leasing team to develop scenarios to generate rent efficiency across the portfolio.
  • Support business teams in developing a negotiation strategy with vendors, tenants and customers.
  • Lead the financial assessment of all the operational activities (Customer write-offs, rebates/discounts, etc.)
  • Drive revenue development initiatives - critically analyses of revenue projections and compare trends.
  • Track actual performance vs budget, forecast, plan, and keep all the stakeholders updated with any risks or opportunities.
  • Ensure the accuracy of actual numbers and lead monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes.
  • Ensure life cycle, CAPEX and Opex Budgets are maintained and routinely reconciled and reported.
  • Lead and assistance in preparing a comprehensive business feasibility study for any required investments by evaluating, analysing, and understanding the potential of the proposed investments.
  • Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA, or similar internationally recognised professional certifications are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working in an finance and accounting role, demonstrating knowledge of financial practices and procedures. Experience with /retail/hospitality/marina and F&B business is a plus.
