ITP Media Group is launching Complex MENA bringing the globally renowned Complex brand to the Middle East. Complex is a leading youth culture media platform that covers the latest in style music sneakers sports and pop culture. The Head of Content will spearhead the brands editorial and content strategy in the MENA region ensuring alignment with Complexs global vision while tailoring content to resonate with the regional audience.

Our Head of Content should be deeply familiar with the COMPLEX editorial brand and tone as well as key vertical areas (Style Music Sneakers Sports Pop Culture) and be able to show existing professional and personal involvement in these areas of culture as a journalist creator community member and fan.

Content Strategy & Development:
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director of COMPLEX and Director of Digital develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy for Complex MENA across all platforms social and digitalfirst ensuring alignment with Complexs global standards.
  • Curate produce and oversee the creation of original content in a handson role including articles videos podcasts and social media posts that reflect the interests and trends of the MENA youth culture.
  • Identify and collaborate with regional influencers artists and creators to produce authentic and engaging content.
Team Leadership & Management:
  • Build and lead a diverse content team across various disciplines including writers editors videographers and social media managers.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity and excellence within the budget.
Brand Alignment & Collaboration:
  • Ensure all content aligns with Complexs brand identity voice and editorial guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Complexs global teams to share insights content and best practices.
  • Adapt global content to suit the regional audience ensuring cultural relevance and sensitivity.
Audience Engagement & Growth:
  • Work with the Head of Social to analyse audience metrics to inform content decisions and strategies.
  • Implement SEO and social media best practices to maximize content reach and engagement.
  • Develop original initiatives to grow Complex MENAs audience across all platforms.
Commercial & Partnership Opportunities:
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to identify and develop branded content opportunities across all media formats social online and offline.
  • Ensure content offerings are attractive to potential advertisers and partners.
  • Lead concept direction in client meetings and pitches as the editorial representative of Complex MENA.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Journalism Communications Media Studies or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in digital media with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of youth culture especially within the MENA region.
  • Extensive editorial experience across written video and social content.
  • Proven ability to manage a multifunctional team and production workflows.
  • Experience with digital programming and publishing including datadriven optimisation of content and channel performance.
  • Strong network of content creators journalists producers and potential contributors in target areas and regions.
  • Familiarity with Arabic language and regional content.
  • Comfort working across editorial and commercial content incl. brand partnerships.
  • Ability to take a publicfacing role and serve as an editorial ambassador for the COMPLEX brand and ITP Group.
  • Proficiency in content management systems analytics tools and social media platforms.
