Overview

Citigold Private Client (CPC) and Citigold (CG) are key segments within Citi's Wealth franchise. In the UAE, these segments serve a growing client base of over 40,000 banking and wealth clients, and more than 180,000 cards and unsecured lending clients. We offer comprehensive wealth management solutions, from traditional banking and lending services to sophisticated managed investments and capital market access, delivered through both offshore and onshore platforms. Our client-centric approach combines personalized, high-touch service from dedicated bankers and product specialists with cutting-edge digital capabilities.

As Head of CPC and CG for the UAE, you will lead and drive the growth of these key segments in a dynamic and competitive market. Reporting to the Head of Asia South Wealth and serving as a key member of the Asia South Wealth Management Team, you will be responsible for the overall profitability and performance of the CPC and CG segments in the UAE. This includes:

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Overseeing the execution of the Asia South Wealth strategic plan within the UAE, collaborating with regional and global teams to ensure alignment and drive growth.
  • Business Performance: Full accountability for delivering on business plans, including leading the front-office teams (client advisors and client servicing), growing Net New Investment Assets and revenues, managing expenses, and delivering on key performance indicators.
  • Client Focus: Championing a client-centric culture and ensuring the delivery of best-in-class solutions and services that meet the evolving needs of our CPC and CG clients. Driving innovation and leveraging digital capabilities to elevate the client experience. Engaging clients at events or in meetings to deepen and build their relationship with Citi Wealth.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Building and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders across Citi, including Products, Wealth Continuum, Business Performance Office, Digital Growth, Wealth COO Office (including Data & Analytics), Wealth Ops, Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Risk and Control Management: Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies. Foster a robust risk and control environment. Proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all business activities. Protect and enhance Citi's brand and reputation.
  • Leadership and Development: Engaging, building and managing a high-performing wealth management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and client focus. Leading, mentoring, and coaching senior managers, fostering a strong culture of compliance, ethical conduct, and proactive risk management. Ensuring the team has the necessary resources and skill sets to succeed.
Responsibilities (continued)
  • P&L and Balance Sheet Responsibility: Drive asset and liabilities growth actions to strengthen and meet all balance sheet targets with respect to self-funding ratio, LCR, and other metrics.
  • Strategic and Digital Growth: Drive sustainable business growth, growing Net New Investment Assets, growing revenues and profitability, offering differentiated customer value propositions and implementing an integrated digital and manned distribution platform which provides world class efficiency, experience and service quality to our customers.
Strategy
  • Articulate and execute a compelling vision and business strategy to drive sustainable growth for the CPC and CG segment across UAE, ensuring cluster and global alignment of objectives, in cooperation with key stakeholders.
  • Communication and Engagement: Communicate the vision of the future to motivate and engage all levels of staff and give them a clear understanding of where their work fits into the big picture.
  • Priorities and Execution: Drive the strategic priorities and vision for CPC and CG in UAE.
  • Wealth Advisor and Client Digital/Mobile strategies: Drive Wealth Advisor and Client Digital/Mobile strategies for CPC and CG segments.
  • Technology Planning: Drive the planning and execution of the CPC and CG Technology Book of Work in UAE.
Customer Franchise Growth
  • Strategic Direction: Set the strategic direction for the business in terms of ambition, products, partners, business development, segments and channels in cooperation with cluster partners.
  • Value Propositions: Ensure strong value propositions focused on core customer segments and products.
  • Growth and Cross-Sell: Grow the portfolio by way of new client acquisition and relationship deepening through cross-sell of appropriate products.
  • Market Opportunities and Sales Programs: Identify market opportunities for business growth and implement sales programs to achieve the desired results.
  • Customer Loyalty and Experience: Build and deepen customer loyalty and satisfaction to deliver a remarkable experience. Institute measurements and tracking for key drivers on Customer satisfaction and NPS scores.
  • Digital Transformation: Drive initiatives to become a digital bank.
Risk & Controls Management
  • Risk Monitoring: Continuously assess the business’ key risk indicators and ensure strict compliance at all times.
  • Policy Enhancements: Initiate recommendations for enhancements of policies where appropriate, and foster openness among staff to surface potential issues and concerns.
  • Judgement and Safeguards: Exercise sound credit and business judgement to safeguard the interests of the bank and customers.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with the bank’s policies, regulations and guidelines pertaining to staff behaviour, sales, products and marketing.
  • Controls: Manage the team on a “no surprise” basis, minimize outstanding documentation.
  • Ethics and Culture: Embed a strong culture of ethics, risk management, compliance and controls.
Day to Day Business Oversight
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the CPC/CG UAE Management Team to support day-to-day management.
  • Goal Setting: Set goals for each sales channel to align with overall sales goals, regularly reviewing and revising them to adapt to environmental changes.
  • Gap Closure: Proactively coordinate initiatives to close any gaps to Plan.
  • Coordination: Partner with Products, Citi Private Bank, Operations & Technology, Finance, Compliance, Legal, HR, Risk & Control, and other Citi products to develop and coordinate the execution of the CPC and CG business plan.
  • Representation: Represent the CPC and CG within Citi and externally as appropriate.
  • Ethics and Controls: Embed a strong culture of ethics, compliance and controls.
  • Client Obsession: Lead Client Obsession initiatives to drive focus on customer experience and maintain top NPS ratings.
  • Growth and Acquisition: Drive customer acquisition, net customer growth, Net New Investment Assets (NNIA), as well as cross sell.
  • Delivery of Priorities: Plan and execute actions to ensure the CPC and CG Key Priorities and Scorecard are delivered.
  • Digital Innovation: Drive digital in servicing and acquisitions, continuing to innovate to maintain Citi at the top of mobile banking app store ratings.
  • Audit Readiness: Always ensure audit readiness and strong controls and secure successful internal and external audit results.
People Management
  • Structure and Talent: Manage the organization with the right structure and right people to deliver business results.
  • Talent Development: Recruit, retain and develop talent across all key leadership positions, with a strong mix of local and international high potential future leaders.
  • Advisor Growth: Execute the Client Advisor growth plans, delivering the agreed front line capacity to service CPC and CG clients as well as the growth targets.
  • Leadership Development: Strategically develop talent with on-the-job training, stretch assignments, formal leadership programs and other actions.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Be a coach and mentor and develop managerial skills of direct reports into high quality managers.
  • Employee Experience: Take ownership of the managed team and ensure Citi people management practices are implemented to ensure an excellent employee experience across the employee life cycle.
  • Talent Strategy: Support the Wealth career path strategies, including driving the Wealth Talent Continuum actions, Training & Development activities and the Total Rewards strategy.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record as a senior leader in key aspects of business management (strategy, sales, people leadership, financial performance, risk & controls).
  • 15+ years of relevant strategic and operational work experience.
  • Proven track record in leading transformation and change, and ability to materially change business trajectory.
  • Extensive knowledge of consumer bank and wealth management products, services, and markets and understanding of the competitive landscape for the Affluent and High Net Worth Segments in the country.
  • Demonstrates clear understanding of the drivers of performance and decision making to maximize results.
  • Demonstrated ability to build internal relationships with broader stakeholders across the franchise to drive to common goals and outcomes in an open, transparent and collaborative manner across geographies.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work in a matrixed environment public presence (clients, local partners, government/regulator, etc.)
  • Understanding of Citigroup’s policies (GCCFRP), compliance and regulations (preferred).
  • Awareness of Citi people processes and policies (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration related field (preferred).
  • MBA preferred.
