We are recruiting an experienced and inspiring Head Coach to lead a team of coaches within a boutique functional group training environment. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who sets high standards, leads from the front, and is passionate about coaching excellence, team development and member experience.
Role Purpose
The Head Coach is responsible for leading, supporting and developing the coaching team while setting the tone, standards and culture within the studio. This role requires strong leadership, coaching expertise, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to identify growth opportunities through member engagement and feedback.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Coaching & Leadership
- Deliver group classes, assessments and personal training sessions
- Lead teens and semi‑private small group training programmes
- Manage and support coaches to ensure studio standards are upheld
- Conduct new coach onboarding and ongoing development
- Co‑lead monthly coach workshops
- Ensure monthly coach self‑assessments are completed
- Communicate class occupancy reports monthly
- Share weekly announcements and reminders with the coaching team
- Co‑plan and execute monthly studio activations
- Ensure studio equipment is safe, maintained and operational
- Collect and communicate member feedback to management
- Maintain and update client CRM notes
Sales & Member Engagement
- Support social media content creation and studio campaigns
- Collaborate with marketing on promotions and activations
- Promote studio services, events and offers
- Support Front of House with member follow‑ups and renewals
- Nurture new leads and convert them into full paying members
- Drive revenue through assessments, PT, teens and semi‑private programmes
- Track and support coach performance against targets
- Improve member retention through consistent weekly engagement
- Attend weekly team meetings
- Participate in marketing activations in and outside the studio
Assessments
- Set and monitor monthly assessment targets
- Support booking and follow‑up of assessments
- Set realistic post‑assessment goals and track progress via CRM
Requirements
- Up‑to‑date REPs Level 3 Fitness Certification (or equivalent)
- Up‑to‑date Basic First Aid Certification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar leadership role
- Strong background in functional group exercise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident, respectful and motivating leader
- Highly organised and computer literate
- Warm, personable and professional
- Open to feedback and thrives in a team environment
