Job summary

CAE is seeking an experienced Ground School Instructor to deliver aviation training to military aviators. The role covers regulatory compliance, currency maintenance, and engaging classroom delivery using CBT, IPT, and simulations.

You will prepare facilities, maintain records, support examinations, and drive courseware improvements, all while ensuring learner outcomes and safety. Regular on-site duties in Dubai, UAE are expected.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Ground School Instructor or Aviation Trainer.
• Experience within an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) or aviation training centre is preferred.
• Experience developing aviation courseware, CBT content, or technical training materials.
• Knowledge of competency-based training methodologies and modern aviation learning technologies.
• Experience supporting examinations, assessments, and regulatory-approved training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all instructor qualifications, approvals, and currency requirements are maintained in accordance with ATO requirements before training.
• Exercise instructional privileges only when appropriately qualified and authorized.
• Comply with regulatory requirements, approved training programmes, and policies during delivery.
• Perform Ground School Instructor duties per the applicable manual.
• Deliver ground training courses via classroom, CBT, IPT, and simulations, as required.
• Conduct sessions in a professional, engaging, learner-focused environment.
• Prepare and inspect facilities, equipment, and documentation prior to training.
• Maintain accurate training records and administrative documentation.
• Support examinations, assessments, and knowledge evaluations.
• Deliver remedial training and coaching as needed to support competency.
• Review and update courseware, presentations, and manuals.
• Provide feedback to improve content and learner engagement.
• Support curriculum enhancement and training programme development.
• Support training operations and special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance And Qualifications

• Ensure all instructor qualifications, approvals, and currency requirements are maintained in accordance with Approved Training Organisation (ATO) requirements before conducting training activities.
• Exercise instructional privileges only when appropriately qualified and authorized.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements, approved training programmes, and organizational policies and procedures during training delivery.
• Perform Ground School Instructor duties in accordance with the applicable Policy and Procedures Manual.

Ground Training Delivery

• Deliver ground training courses through classroom instruction, Simfinity platforms, Computer‑Based Training (CBT), Instructor‑Pilot Training (IPT), and stand‑up lectures, as required.
• Conduct training sessions in a professional, engaging, and learner‑focused environment.
• Facilitate aviation technical training in accordance with approved courseware and lesson plans.
• Encourage trainee participation and support effective learning outcomes.

Course Administration and Training Support

• Prepare and inspect classroom facilities, training equipment, documentation, and instructional resources prior to the commencement of training.
• Maintain accurate training records and administrative documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Support examination activities, assessments, and knowledge evaluations.
• Deliver remedial training and coaching where required to support trainee performance and competency development.

Courseware Development and Continuous Improvement

• Review, maintain, and recommend updates to courseware, presentations, training materials, manuals, and associated documentation.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve course content, instructional effectiveness, and learner engagement.
• Support curriculum enhancement initiatives and training programme development activities.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support training operations and special projects as required.
• Perform additional duties reasonably assigned in support of training objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Ground School Instructor, Technical Instructor, Aviation Trainer, or Academic Instructor.
• Previous experience within an Approved Training Organisation (ATO), aviation training centre, airline training department, aircraft manufacturer, or business aviation environment.
• Experience developing aviation courseware, CBT content, or technical training materials.
• Knowledge of competency‑based training methodologies and modern aviation learning technologies.
• Experience supporting examinations, assessments, and regulatory‑approved training programmes.
