Job summary

Shamal Holding, operating under Sky Dive Dubai Umbrella, is seeking a Ground Controller to safely manage aircraft loading, coordinate with pilots on drop points, and oversee skydiver landings. The role requires ensuring weather-aware decisions, direct incident response, and daily readiness of radios, vehicles and equipment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification and at least 3 years of related experience, with strong communication and safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with manifest to ensure each plane load is boarded safely and efficiently.
• Directly communicate with pilots about weather, air space, and drop locations.
• Monitor weather and, with management support, decide who can skydive as conditions change.
• Observe openings/landings and advise skydivers on safety.
• Coordinate with air traffic control for safe operations in air space.
• Set up ground control daily: check radios, open air space, prepare landing area, fuel buggies.
• Maintain all equipment and vehicles used in operations with regular inspections and proper storage.
• Ensure vehicles are ready for use and clean; oversee transportation assets.
• Provide immediate assistance in incidents, stabilize injuries and coordinate with emergency services as needed.

This role comes under our Sky Dive Dubai Umbrella and we are seeking a Ground Controller who will be responsible to safely manage the process of loading the aircraft, communicating with pilots where and when to drop passenger, overseeing all skydivers landing and directly dealing with any incidents that may occur from that.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with manifest to ensure each plane load is boarded by the correct people safely and efficiently.
• Communicate directly with the pilots to update them on weather conditions, air space and when and where to drop the skydivers
• Monitor the weather and make decisions, with the support of management, on who can safely skydive as the conditions change
• Observe all openings/landings and communicate any safety advise or discipline to skydivers.
• Communicate with air traffic control to safely run the operation in the air space
• Set up ground control every working day by checking radios, opening air space, preparing landing area and fueling buggies
• Responsible for maintaining all equipment and vehicles used in operations. Including regular inspections, cleaning, and ensuring proper storage to prolong the lifespan of the equipment and maintain safety standards.
• Oversee the cleanliness and operational condition of vehicles used for transportation, ensuring they are always ready for use.
• Provide immediate assistance to anyone involved in an incident or accident during skydiving operations. This may include administering basic first aid, stabilizing injuries, and coordinating with emergency services if necessary to ensure the well-being of individuals until further medical assistance arrived.
