Job summary

Wood is seeking a Graduate I&C Engineer for Abu Dhabi-based projects in its Oil, Gas & New Energies team. The role offers hands-on design exposure and field mentoring, with a clear path to develop instrumentation and control skills.

You will learn to apply ISA, IEC, NEC, and API standards, work with SPI/INtools and AutoCAD, and support cross-disciplinary teams on design and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related discipline.
• Basic understanding of instrumentation principles, sensors, control systems, PLCs, DCS, and automation concepts.
• Familiarity with ISA, IEC, NEC, and API standards (basic level acceptable at graduate stage).
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of I&C engineering fundamentals by supporting design activities such as instrument selection, sizing, datasheets, and control philosophy preparation.
• Assist with industry-standard tools such as SPI/INtools, AutoCAD, PLC/DCS configuration basics, and loop diagram development.
• Aid in creating and reviewing I&C documentation including hook-up drawings, cable schedules, instrument indexes, and cause & effect diagrams.
