Since 2012, Careem has enabled earnings for over 2.5 million Captains, simplified the lives of more than 70 million customers, and built a platform where the region’s best talent and entrepreneurs thrive. We operate in 70+ cities across 10 countries, from Morocco to Pakistan.

We’re now entering our next chapter — one powered by AI. We’re looking for AI talent: curious problem-solvers who know how to apply AI to build tools, automate workflows, and create real impact. Whether it’s streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, or reimagining internal systems — we want people who can make Careem work smarter and move faster.

About the Job

As a Public Relations Officer, you will work closely with the legal team to provide high‑quality support to Careem. In this role, you go beyond administrative tasks to actively navigate the permits and licensing landscape, ensuring Careem’s operations can scale. Partnering with the Legal team, you will manage the essential licenses and government relationships that empower Careem to expand and thrive in the UAE.

What you’ll do
  • Manage all trade license renewals, new applications, and branch issuances across Careem entities, and maintain an accurate database of entity creation and renewals.
  • Liaise with government authorities (DET, DMCC, DSO, DM, Trakhees, TAMM) to process approvals of applications and resolve delays.
  • Draft and submit official letters, applications and documents for approvals from relevant authorities, eg: for fitouts, launch of new locations.
  • Coordinate with the RTA regarding parking for delivery riders in and around Careem’s leased premises and logistics support for public spaces.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for payments related to trade licenses, reservations, and approvals, ensuring timely payments.
  • Support internal teams with government documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare, submit, and track KYC forms and other required documents for audits.
  • Provide regular progress updates to management and ensure timely resolution of outstanding matters.
  • Assist with global signature requests that will include arranging notary and apostille/authentication of documents.
  • Maintain an accurate database of all pending or threatened litigation.
What you’ll need
  • Bilingual (Arabic and English)
  • Have a strong understanding of the licensing and permits processes in the UAE, as well as experience in a corporate law setting.
  • Tech‑savvy - should be able to create/use Word documents, Excel templates, Google Docs, project management tools, and e‑signing tools.
  • Good communication skills - communicate clearly, whether writing or speaking.
  • Detail‑oriented and self‑motivated.
  • Great organisational skills, high integrity, and follows through on tasks.
What we’ll provide you

We offer colleagues the opportunity to drive impact in the region while they learn and grow. As a full time Careem colleague, you will be able to:

  • Put your passion to work in a purposeful organisation dedicated to creating impact in a region with a lot of untapped potential.
  • Explore new opportunities to learn and grow every day.
