Job summary

kast.xyz is seeking a hands-on Backend Engineering Lead (Go) to build and scale our Compliance & Risk Platform in Dubai. You’ll drive backend architecture for KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and internal tooling while partnering with Compliance, Product, Operations, and Engineering teams.

You will lead design and development of backend systems, own technical architecture, and mentor engineers to establish strong backend standards and scalable practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering expertise with Go.
• Experience building production-grade APIs and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of reliability, security, and auditability.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with Compliance, Product, Operations.
• Startup mindset with ownership and execution ability.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of backend systems powering compliance and risk products.
• Build scalable services and APIs primarily using Go.
• Own technical architecture for onboarding, monitoring, restrictions, and internal tooling.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, AML Ops, and Product to translate regulatory requirements into scalable tech solutions.
• Design reliable, auditable, and secure systems with observability and workflows.
• Improve automation and operational efficiency across compliance processes.
• Mentor engineers and help scale the engineering team.
