Role & Location

FX Manager – Business Banking

Location: Dubai

Role Purpose

To achieve Business Banking FX revenue targets through cross selling to existing relationships as well as to solicit new-to-bank customers requiring majorly foreign exchange services while ensuring service delivery to these clients through liaisoning with various intra-organizational departments.

Key Accountabilities
  • Drive FX revenue via cross selling treasury solutions to existing & new-to-bank customers in the Business Banking.
  • Formulate business plans and key initiatives of the department to grow the treasury revenues and achieve FX targets.
  • Deliver agreed revenue numbers through ensuring extension of funded/non-funded based facilities, FX/remittance transactional volume, margin trading, forward contracts, futures and options and exchange.
  • Work with analytics team to develop and implement client campaigns to improve client penetration on treasury products and assist RMs in identifying treasury opportunities in their portfolios.
  • Work closely with all RMs & VRMs product & TCM to maximize opportunities through regular contacts, feedback, coordination and cross-referrals.
  • Develop systems and channels that proactively solicit/ manage businesses which meet agreed risk-reward parameters of the unit.
  • Implement governance system to monitor all outstanding deals on spot and cash transactions to ensure intra‑day risk is managed within the set limits.
  • Ensure product profitability via spread maintenance and volume growth for the RM portfolios.

Customer Interaction & Problem Solving

Direct customer contact for FX transactions.

Constant information to keep track of market situation.

Day‑to‑day focus on training, mentoring BBD RMs on treasury solutions, understanding and analyzing customer behavior/needs from market data and competition.

Providing overall direction, guidance, and support to Liabilities & Cash Management RMs on treasury products, ensuring inter‑segment RM disputes related to the product are mediated.

Ensuring customer penetration and product diversification is effective and appropriate for the strategic goals of the segment and product.

Decision Making Authority & Responsibility
  • Judgement exercised daily on credit assessments, impacting revenues/credit losses for the bank.
  • Immediate decision-making on urgent customer requests based on current facts.
  • Ensuring compliance with KYC, AML, account reviews, high‑value transaction monitoring, STR escalation.
  • Ensuring all procedures and SOPs are effective in servicing customers and managing product risk.
  • Recommend and finalize training documents.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required
  • At least 5‑7 years' post‑qualification experience in the Financial Industry.
  • A deep understanding and knowledge of the UAE SME & Treasury market.
