Day to Day

Searching for an opportunity that just adds up? We’re looking for a new Cost Controller with a strong enough grasp of the figures to balance managing hotel assets,

Cost Monitoring and Analysis
  • Track and monitor costs associated with projects, operations, or business units.
  • Perform cost analysis and provide recommendations to ensure that spending is in line with the budget.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and investigate discrepancies.
Budget Preparation and Management
  • Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and track spending to maintain cost control.
Cost Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost reports, including monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Document and maintain cost control procedures, standards, and protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Review financial records and transactions for accuracy and completeness.
Financial Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, external regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure that all cost-related documentation is available for review.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with project managers, department heads, and other teams to forecast costs and manage budgets.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision-making in various areas of the business.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to manage cost-related issues and negotiate pricing or contract terms.
Cost Control Tools and Software
  • Utilize cost management software and tools to track, report, and analyze costs.
  • Implement and manage systems to improve cost efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
Cost Improvement Initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and recommend strategies for improving cost efficiency.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and ensure that efficiency improvements align with overall business objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting or Finance
  • Or three years in hotel accounting or internal audit with one year in a supervisory role
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must speak fluent English
