Job summary

WonnPay FZE is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain a secure fintech backend. You will collaborate with the CTO, engineering, product, QA, and partners to own backend services from design through production deployment.

The role emphasizes independent decision-making, code reviews, and taking ownership of critical systems, including wallets, payments, and data integrity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience in fintech or related fields.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Experience building secure, scalable RESTful APIs and services.
• Proven ability to design database schemas and data models.
• Comfort with AWS production environments and CI/CD tooling.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and participate in architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services.
• Work with CTO and teams to build secure, reliable systems.
• Define service boundaries, API contracts, and data models.
• Ensure reliability, availability, and maintainability of services.
• Build and optimize fintech transaction systems, wallets, and payments.
