Job summary

King & Spalding LLP is seeking an Accounting Manager for the Middle East to lead accounting, reporting, and controls across UAE offices. The role partners with regional leadership, external auditors, regulators, and Firmwide Finance to ensure timely close, accurate financial statements, and robust internal controls.

The ideal candidate has a CPA/ACCA/ACA/CA credential and 7+ years in complex accounting within professional services or Big 4 environments, with UAE knowledge and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA/ACA/CA) desired.
• Experience with multinational/global firms preferred.
• Experience with professional services (law/consulting/accounting) is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and statutory accounting.
• UAE tax/compliance knowledge is advantageous.
• Proven leadership, planning, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close for Middle East offices with deadlines.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany balances, and balance sheet schedules.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules per standards.
• Analyze results and provide commentary on variances, trends, and risks.
• Coordinate statutory audits and year-end reporting with external auditors and regulators.
• Lead regional accounting staff and foster development and succession planning.
• Ensure internal controls, audit findings, and action plans are addressed promptly.
• Collaborate with Firmwide Finance and regional leadership on reporting and budget processes.
