Job summary

Daman Investments, Dubai, is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the Financial Planning Manager and the broader Finance team in budgeting, planning, reporting, and analysis across diverse sectors in the UAE.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
  • Professional qualification or progress towards CFA/ACCA/CMA/CPA is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with accounting and reporting systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in budgets, forecasts, and financial plans across units.
  • Support consolidation of monthly, quarterly, annual management reports.

  • Support reconciliations of accounts, bank statements, intercompany balances.
  • Track operating expenses against budgets and flag deviations.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders for inputs for planning cycles.

Job description

The Finance Assistant provides support to the Financial Planning Manager and the wider Finance team in day‑to‑day financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis activities. This job supports management reporting, variance analysis, data consolidation, and the preparation of financial information used by management. The Role will also support in managing day‑to‑day finance matters across the group’s financial services business with some work in automotive, real estate and hospitality sectors in the UAE.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Analysis Support


  • Assist the Financial Planning Manager in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans across business units.

  • Support the consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.

  • Prepare variance analysis between actuals, budget, and forecast and assist in highlighting key drivers.

  • Help maintain financial planning templates, models, schedules, and trackers.


Reporting & Data Management


  • Assist in preparing routine and ad‑hoc financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review.

  • Collect, organise, and verify financial data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of financial information and supporting documentation.

  • Assist with the preparation of board and committee packs, including collating documents, formatting and basic proofreading.

  • Assist with general finance and bookkeeping tasks under supervision, such as reviewing invoices, expense reports, and supporting documentation.

  • Support reconciliations of accounts, bank statements, and intercompany balances.

  • Help track operating expenses against budgets and flag deviations to the Financial Planning Manager.

  • Assist in liaising with internal stakeholders to obtain inputs required for planning and reporting cycles.


General


  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across business units to obtain information and documents required for financial or reporting tasks.

  • Support in preparing periodic status reports, trackers and presentations for the department management.

  • Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned by the team from time to time.

  • Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.

  • Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Educational Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognised university.

  • Professional qualification or progress towards one (e.g., CFA, ACCA, CMA, CPA) is an advantage.

  • Good understanding of basic financial concepts including financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (formulas, pivot tables, and basic financial modelling); comfort working with PowerPoint for management presentations.

  • Comfort working with accounting and reporting systems, financial templates, and trackers.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.

Work Experience


  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; internship experience in finance, accounting, audit, or financial planning is an advantage).

  • Good understanding of basic financial concepts and an interest in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.

  • Prior experience as a finance intern, junior analyst, or similar role is desirable but not mandatory.
