Job Overview:

Metso is seeking a Field Service Engineer-EIA to join its Middle East Field Service Team. The role involves on-site service support for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems in the mining and mineral processing plants.

What you'll do:

• Lead and advise on safe and efficient installation and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
• Perform testing and commissioning of electrical motors and VFD drives.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Expertise in Siemens PCS7, Profibus, Profinet, TIA Portal, and S7-400H.
• Provide on-site services support for Electrical and Instrumentaiton, Automation systems crushing, bulk, grinding, pyro, beneficiation, dewatering, hydrometallurgy, and filtration equipment in the installations, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Troubleshoot communication networks, analytical instrument systems, and programmable logic-based systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Support Aftermarket Spares and Service Sales with technical expertise.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in servicing, installation, and commissioning of mineral processing plants.
• Strong background in electrical, instrumentation, and automation with expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of DCS, HMI, PLCs, and industrial automation systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for Profibus/Profinet network communication breakdowns.
• Ability to travel frequently (up to 75% within the Middle East, with occasional global assignments).
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and report-writing skills.
• A proactive problem-solver with a quick, take-charge approach to field service challenges.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining effective communication.
• Team-oriented and Interact with all levels of staff and management, both internally and externally, establishing positive relationships.

• Willing and able to travel frequently for field operations.
