About Joud Coffee
Joud Coffee is a homegrown specialty coffee brand in Abu Dhabi, scaling fast across multiple outlets and production workflows. To grow without losing quality, we need world-class documentation that makes execution consistent, auditable, and easy to train.
The Role (Summary)
We’re hiring a Technical Writer / Documentation Lead to own and build our documentation library: SOPs, recipe specs, batch sheets, checklists, food safety records, and training-ready content. You’ll work closely with Operations, R&D, QA/Food Safety, and Training to capture “how we do things” and turn it into clear, practical, version-controlled documents that teams actually use.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the end-to-end creation of an organized SOP + recipe documentation system (structure, templates, naming, versioning, approvals).
- Convert real operations into clear documentation by shadowing teams, interviewing SMEs, and mapping workflows (CPU/central kitchen + outlets).
- Write and maintain:
- SOPs / Work Instructions (step-by-step, tools, timings, safety, QC points)
- Recipe specification sheets (grams, yields, method, assembly, holding, reheating, plating, photos)
- Production/batch sheets and prep lists
- Opening/closing procedures, cleaning schedules, maintenance checklists, logs
- Embed HACCP / food safety thinking into documents (hazards, CCPs, critical limits, monitoring, corrective actions, verification, recordkeeping).
- Ensure documents are simple, visual, and operational (quick-read formats, flowcharts, photos, check boxes).
- Maintain a review cycle: keep content current as menus/processes change; manage revisions and distribution so outlets always have the latest version.
- Support Training by converting SOPs into LMS-ready content (micro-lessons, assessments, sign-offs).
What We’re Looking For
Must Have
- Strong writing/editing skills in clear, simple English (operations-ready, not “corporate”).
- Ability to translate messy real-world workflows into structured, consistent documentation.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills (version control, document governance).
Preferred / Advantage
- Prior experience in F&B, QSR/café operations, central kitchen/production, or food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems, audits, and compliance documentation.
- Comfortable working on-site in kitchens/cafés (observations, photo capture, testing steps).
- Arabic is a plus.
Tools & Working Style
- Comfortable with Google Docs/Sheets (or MS Office).
- Bonus: Canva/Figma/Lucidchart, Notion/Confluence, LMS tools (or similar).
- Hands-on, collaborative, and able to push work forward independently.
