Job Purpose
The Executive Project Engineer will lead and manage engineering activities for a range of marine projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and specifications, while driving project success from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including operations, commercial, and HSQE, to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Develop and review seafastening designs, ensuring cargo is securely restrained in accordance with project requirements and marine standards.
- Perform stability calculations for vessels and barges, verifying compliance with intact and damaged stability criteria.
- Conduct motion analyses to evaluate dynamic loads, accelerations, and their effects on cargo integrity and seafastening arrangements.
- Support transport engineering and load-out/offload operations, ensuring safe execution and structural integrity under varying sea conditions.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for marine projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to support project development.
- Maintain project documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
- Lead project meetings, providing status updates and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting professional development within the team.
- Participate in site inspections and audits as required.
Joint Accountabilities
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing in coordination with the Finance Department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the marine industry, specifically in project engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D) and other relevant engineering software.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Proactive and self‑motivated, with a commitment to delivering high‑quality results.
