The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the kitchen and will be responsible for managing all of the restaurant’s food-related activities. This includes menu development, staff supervision, and quality control.

Job Description

The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations. This includes creating menus, training staff, ensuring proper portion sizes and quality control. The Executive Chef also works closely with other departments to ensure that customer needs are met and that proper procedures are followed. The Executive Chef is expected to lead a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen.

Job Responsibilities
  • Create seasonal menus and recipes that are both creative and cost-effective
  • Supervise a team of kitchen staff including cooks, sous chefs, dishwashers etc.
  • Ensure food safety by adhering to all health codes
  • Monitor portion sizes in order to maintain cost control standards
  • Maintain inventory of food items as well as supplies such as small equipment
  • Monitor food costs to ensure budget goals are met
  • Develop strategies for waste reduction
  • Train new staff members on proper procedures for food preparation and safety
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or a similar role in a professional kitchen setting
  • Ability to create delicious recipes using fresh ingredients
  • Excellent knowledge of cost control principles
  • Working knowledge of culinary trends
  • Certification from a recognized culinary program preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining excellent standards
