Job summary

Client of MM Management Consultant seeks an experienced Estimation Engineer Piping Fabrication to prepare accurate quotations for piping fabrication projects. You will review enquiries, drawings and specs, prepare material take-offs and develop costed bids for review by Sales and Project teams.

You will perform MTOs from isometrics, GA drawings, P&IDs, and other docs, estimate man-hours, consider subcontracted services, and ensure delivery schedules and margins are maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in piping fabrication estimation and costing.
• Strong knowledge of piping materials and ASME/ASTM/API standards.
• Experience in MTO, BOQ, and cost-sheet preparation.
• Proficient in Excel, estimation software, and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Review enquiries, drawings, specs, datasheets, BOQs and scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and commercial quotations.
• Perform MTOs from isometrics, GA drawings, P&IDs and other docs.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations; coordinate with teams.
• Prepare complete technical and commercial bids with assumptions and delivery schedules.
• Support sales during negotiations and follow up bids for revisions.

We are looking for an experienced Estimation Engineer Piping Fabrication to support the Sales amp Projects team in preparing accurate and competitive technical and commercial quotations for piping fabrication projects The candidate will be responsible for reviewing fabrication enquiries drawings and specifications preparing material take-offs calculating fabrication and project costs evaluating supplier subcontractor quotations and developing complete technical and commercial bids This is not a general Quantity Surveying or Procurement position Candidates must have practical experience in piping fabrication estimation and the ability to independently prepare complete fabrication quotations.

Key Responsibilities

Review customer enquiries drawings specifications datasheets BOQs and scope of work Prepare detailed cost estimates and commercial quotations for piping fabrication projects Perform MTOs from isometric drawings GA drawings P amp IDs and other technical documents Estimate costs for Pipes fittings flanges valves and piping materials Cutting fit-up fabrication and welding Welding consumables and manpower NDT PMI hydrotesting and inspection Heat treatment blasting painting and coating Pipe supports and structural items Packing transportation and delivery Subcontracted services and third-party inspectionCalculate fabrication man-hours machine requirements production capacity and estimated completion time Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors Coordinate with Sales Procurement Engineering Quality and Production teams for costing inputs Prepare complete technical and commercial offers including assumptions exclusions clarifications and delivery schedules Identify technical and commercial risks before quotation submission Ensure all customer requirements are properly incorporated into the costing Identify cost-saving alternatives without compromising specifications or quality Support Sales during technical discussions and commercial negotiations Attend customer meetings and site visits when required Maintain records of enquiries estimates quotations and revisions in the ERP system Follow up on submitted bids and revise quotations as required Compare estimated costs with actual project costs and improve future estimating accuracy Support successful order handover to Project Execution and Production teams Maintain confidentiality of company pricing margins and customer information.

Important Requirement

Candidates must have hands‑on experience in piping fabrication estimation and costing The ability to independently prepare complete technical and commercial bids from drawings specifications and customer enquiries is essential Bachelor s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or a related discipline. 5 8 years of experience in estimation and costing for piping fabrication projects. Strong knowledge of Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel and other piping materials. Practical understanding of piping fabrication, welding, NDT, inspection, testing, painting and coating. Ability to read and interpret: Isometric drawings P&IDs GA drawings Material specifications Project specifications and technical documents Knowledge of relevant ASME, ASTM, API and applicable piping standards. Experience in MTO, BOQ preparation, fabrication man-hour calculation and detailed cost-sheet preparation. Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of margins, risks and delivery commitments. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, estimation software and ERP systems . Knowledge of AutoCAD or other drawing software is an advantage. Strong analytical, coordination, communication and negotiation skills. Good written and spoken English. Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, EPC or Industrial sector experience preferred.
