Job Brief:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Estimation Engineer to handle cost estimation, tender preparation, and commercial evaluation for metal fabrication projects. The role focuses on steel structures, aluminium works, and custom fabrication projects, playing a critical part in ensuring competitive and profitable bids. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, production, and site teams to deliver accurate and timely estimates in line with project requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review tender documents, IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work in detail to understand project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, detailed BOQs, and rate analysis for steel fabrication and aluminium works.
  • Perform precise quantity take-offs for structural steel, aluminium profiles, plates, pipes, bolts, glass, fittings, and related accessories.
  • Calculate steel tonnage, aluminium section weights, surface areas for painting or powder coating, and overall installation costs.
  • Coordinate with design, production, and site teams to understand fabrication methods, installation sequences, and project constraints.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate them for cost, quality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare technical clarifications and support the commercial team during negotiations with clients and consultants.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions without compromising quality or safety.
  • Maintain estimation databases, cost records, material price libraries, and historical project data for future reference.
  • Assist management during tender submissions, post-tender clarifications, and contract finalization stages.
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in metal fabrication, steel structures, or aluminium works.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and IFC drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation-related tools or software.
  • Sound knowledge of local market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors for steel and aluminium works.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tenders, and meet tight submission deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
