Job Description

· Perform diagnoses and troubleshooting of equipment. Conduct repairs, rebuilds and installation on a wide variety of mechanical and other industrial equipment including compressors, pressing machines, boilers, cranes, forklifts, water pumps, lifting jacks, machine tools, test benches, sandblasters, sweepers, cleaning machines etc.

· Prepare hand sketches for various mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repair and installations using charts, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and past experience.

· Assist the Supervisor, Maintenance to prepare job plans for various mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs and installations.

· Assist the Supervisor, Maintenance with identifying the required spares for equipment maintenance, repair and installation, and support them with generating the required purchase requests.

· Perform all required periodic equipment servicing and respond to emergency calls.

· Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.

· Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.

· Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.

· Support other members of the Facilities Department in fulfilling their roles.

Perform other duties as required by their line manager and/or the Manager, Facilities.

Desired Candidate Profile

· A high school diploma or a technical training certificate in industrial equipment maintenance or similar field is required.

· A minimum of two years of experience performing mechanical systems maintenance is required.

· The ability to perform mechanical work, troubleshooting and conducting repairs as necessary using standard materials, instruments and tools is required.

· Previous military experience is an advantage.

The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
