Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Examine and assess patient visual acuity, evaluate eye health, and diagnose eye disorders.
• Provide treatment for vision problems including corrective lenses and eyeglasses.
• Prescribe medications to treat ocular conditions.
• Educate patients on eye care and detect potential ocular diseases.
• Use retinoscopes, phoropters and lensometers to measure refractive errors and determine corrective measures.
• Maintain detailed records of evaluations, treatments and diagnoses.
• Perform administrative tasks such as billing, insurance paperwork and scheduling appointments.
