This part-time remote Reporter role involves researching, gathering, and verifying information for news stories and features across digital platforms. The Reporter will conduct interviews, monitor news sources, and develop story ideas that are timely, accurate, and relevant to the target audience. Day-to-day tasks include writing and editing news articles, preparing multimedia content such as photos, audio, or video clips, and collaborating with editors or content teams to meet deadlines and editorial standards. The Reporter will also be expected to follow ethical journalism practices, maintain clear documentation of sources, and adapt stories for various formats and channels.
Strong Reporting and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce accurate, clear, and engaging stories. Effective Communication and Writing skills, including interviewing, email communication, and concise written expression. Basic Multimedia skills, such as working with images, audio, or video to support digital news content. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of journalistic ethics, fact-checking practices, and current events. Comfort using digital tools and content management systems; familiarity with social media for news distribution is beneficial. Previous experience in reporting, journalism, or media, and a degree or coursework in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is a plus.
