Job summary

CERT The Centre of Excellence for Applied Research & Training in the UAE seeks an experienced EFL instructor to deliver English as a Foreign Language across beginner to advanced levels using learner-centered, hands-on methods. You will support learners in developing linguistic abilities for international academic and professional environments.

Responsibilities include curriculum development aligned with accreditation standards, lesson planning, and assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in TEFL/TESL from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years' teaching experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years' with a Master's; tertiary-level experience preferred.
• Proficiency with LMS platforms (Moodle/Blackboard/Canvas) for blended and online delivery.
• Experience in assessment design, including rubrics and grade moderation.

Deliver English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction across beginner to advanced levels, using a learner-centered, learning-by-doing approach. The instructor supports learners in developing the linguistic ability required to function effectively in an international academic and professional environment, while contributing to the wider academic and extracurricular life of the program.

LOCATIONS

This role supports our training programs across many UAE locations: Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah. Applicants will select one main location and may indicate additional location(s) they are able to cover.

• Minimum 5 years' relevant teaching experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years' with a Master's degree; tertiary-level experience preferred.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency in LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, or equivalent for blended and online delivery.
• Experience in assessment design, including formative and summative assessments, rubric development, and grade moderation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, both theoretical and practical.
• Strong computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology into teaching.
• Evidence of a personal professional development plan; membership in a recognized professional association preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English: Native or professional proficiency (written and spoken), mandatory; primary language of instruction.

Arabic: Conversational proficiency preferred, not required.
