Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality English and Drama lessons aligned with the British curriculum across relevant key stages
- Plan engaging classroom activities that support reading, writing, speaking, listening, and performance development
- Teach literature, language analysis, creative writing, theatre studies, and dramatic performance techniques
- Monitor and assess student progress with clear academic reporting and timely intervention where required
- Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence
- Support student involvement in school productions, performances, debates, and extracurricular activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership to strengthen curriculum delivery and student outcomes
- Promote strong classroom behaviour management and student wellbeing
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress and student development
- Contribute actively to school events, enrichment programmes, and wider community engagement initiatives
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor of Education or a bachelor's degree in English or Drama, with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge in English language, literature, and Drama education
- Proven track record of outstanding teaching and student achievement
- Creative and enthusiastic teaching approach inside and outside the classroom
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong classroom management and curriculum planning abilities
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous development
