Job summary

The Emirates Group invites applications for an Engineering Systems Manager to lead the Business Digital Systems Operations for Emirates Engineering and ensure the digital strategy is executed while keeping systems operational to support maintenance and engineering processes.

You will manage short- and long-term implementation plans, oversee IT budgeting, mentor the team, and coordinate with engineering units, EGIT and vendors to deliver cost-efficient digital solutions that enhance efficiency

Qualifications

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
• Engineering experience 8+ Years in Aviation IT; aviation engineering environment preferred.
• Management of complex IT implementation within a business organisation.
• Sound knowledge of aircraft maintenance industry and IT solutions with presentation, communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an industry watch over Maintenance and Engineering Digital Systems.
• Execute short and long term engineering digital strategy aligned with roadmap.
• Assist engineering units in business cases for digital systems and advise on priorities.
• Ensure new developments add value by evaluating usage post implementation.
• Manage implementation plans and resource/training needs for digital objectives.
• Coordinate with department heads to assign resources for new systems.
• Ensure cost-effective enhancements and timely user training, and manage UAT coordination.
• Support IT budget formulation and ensure ongoing cost-effective IT solutions.
• Lead the team through MyBC: development plans, SMART goals, and SLA delivery.
• Provide mentoring and training to keep the team well equipped.

Education

Engineering degree

Responsibilities

• Maintain an industry watch over the Maintenance and Engineering Digital Systems supporting Maintenance Repair Organisations MRO airlines and their ongoing developments and enhancement in order to be able to identify new requirements and enhancements of Emirates Engineering Digital Systems
• Responsible for the execution of the short and long term Engineering Digital strategy and ensuring that operation and enhancement of engineering digital systems remains aligned with the Engineering solutions landscape roadmap through continuous reviews of the current state and demand pipeline
• Responsible for assisting the Engineering Business Units in the development of business justifications and business cases for all digital system developments and advise Manager Business Improvement on the priorities for system developments from an operations angle
• Ensure that all new developments and functional changes add value to the business areas by evaluating the system s business usage after implementation
• Manage the short and long term implementation plans
• Recommend business support resource requirements for projects and appropriate training needs to achieve the project digital objectives
• Liaise with the Departmental heads for assigning resources to support and facilitate implementation of new digital systems including business process changes
• Responsible for the cost effective implementation of enhancements to current Maintenance and Engineering Digital Systems by ensuring on-time development to business specification availability of required user training and monitoring the co-ordination and control of User Acceptance Testing
• Support the approval of all SOWs and their associated costs delivered by the IT department and or suppliers in conjunction with the business sponsor to ensure that the IT department and or vendors deliver cost effective solutions
• Accountable for the efficient and optimal usage of all Systems used within Engineering by ensuring that user group meetings are organised, training of all users at appropriate levels, sections are organised to exact full potential of the system related productivity in the sections and the processes they support, functional errors are addressed and solved within agreed time frames and that performance measurements are in place
• Support Manager Business Improvement during the formulation of the departmental and Engineering IT Budget
• Ensure that the IT department delivers ongoing cost effective solutions support enhancements and that Engineering Digital Systems operate at the desired and agreed availability and performance levels
• Lead the team and performance management through MyBC creating development plans and setting smart goals to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery of SLA and objectives of the department
• Provide continuous mentoring, guidance and trainings to ensure the team are well equipped to perform their tasks
