Job summary

FAR.AI, a nonprofit AI research institute, seeks a senior red-team engineer to build and scale red-teaming tools and lead a growing team in Dubai. This role combines software engineering, AI, and security to explore attack spaces and translate findings into safer, real-world impact.

You will plan sprints, contribute to technical and product strategy, and partner with frontier labs and governments to advance safety across leading AI systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading technical teams in software/AI/cybersecurity contexts.
• Experience with Python and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and local LLM frameworks.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (GCP) and compute clusters (Kubernetes, Slurm).
• Ability to communicate technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Thriving in rapidly evolving, mission-driven environments.

Requirements

• Strong track record in software engineering, AI, or computer engineering (e.g., cybersecurity, MLOps)
• Proven experience managing, growing, and leading technical teams
• Experience with Python, LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), and local LLM frameworks
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP) and compute clusters (Kubernetes, Slurm)
• Ability to communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Thriving in rapidly evolving, mission-driven environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or red-teaming frontier LLMs or agentic systems
• Experience building technical teams in an entrepreneurial environment
• Demonstrated ability to discover high-severity vulnerabilities in complex systems
• Published work in AI safety, security, or robustness
