Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
  • Receives and calibrates pressure test elements and ensures timely updating of well data, charts, plots and data files. Contributes to the development of depletions strategy of assigned reservoirs in coordination with more experienced team members.
  • Carry out timely reservoir/well evaluation studies and monitors the performance of oil, gas and injection wells. Includes collating all relevant data; study quality of logs received and calculate well injectivity index and prepare related reports as necessary.
  • Develop computer simulation models to compare past performance of reservoirs and predict future behavior. Compiles and runs such models to identify required action for maximize recovery/meet current production quotas.
  • Establish and follow up the work program to optimize hydrocarbon recovery in the assigned reservoirs. Liaises with contractors conducting the study, analyzes and reviews findings and actions study recommendations. Makes recommendations for testing frequency and pressure monitoring for each well and tabulates, plots result to establish trends to ensure problems are identified/tackled at an early stage to avoid premature loss of well.
  • Examines all data collected for consistency and reliability to ensure that no erroneous data is accepted and thus that anomalous data clearly identifies areas requiring further study. Analyses and interprets data using available techniques including in house and external computer analyses and simulation.
  • Maintains all pressure analysis charts and forms for assigned wells and participates in the reading and plotting of such data. Direct and participate in the updating of well files and cassette data base with monthly production data and descriptions and the periodic action consolidation and computerized display of assigned wells general performance for appropriate distribution.
  • Participates in reservoir engineering studies and analyses as assigned. Includes interpolating flow and build-up test data and applying appropriate equations to describe well behavior and include to engineers forecasts and simulations.
