Job summary

Petrofac is seeking a Junior Project Engineer (Electrical) to be based on project site. The role supports the Project/Delivery team in coordinating electrical vendor activities, inspections, testing, and client interfaces while developing familiarity with electrical equipment and systems within major rotating equipment and critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in EPC/oil & gas or industrial projects.
• Site experience preferred.
• Exposure to OEM/vendor coordination is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate electrical vendor/OEM visits to site.
• Coordinate vendor mobilization, site access, permits, work areas, and required facilities.
• Liaise with Client electrical representatives to arrange inspections, witness activities, testing, and technical coordination meetings.
• Support vendor representatives during inspections, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and other site activities.
• Develop a basic understanding of electrical systems and equipment relevant to the project.
• Follow up on vendor technical queries, inspection findings, punch-list items, and outstanding actions.
• Coordinate with Electrical Engineering, Construction, Quality, HSE, Planning, Procurement, and other disciplines to support vendor activities.
• Monitor the readiness of equipment and systems for planned vendor activities and inspections.
• Maintain a schedule and tracker for vendor visits, inspections, testing activities, and outstanding actions.
• Participate in site walkdowns and support identification and closure of electrical-related issues.
• Maintain proper records of inspections, vendor reports, action lists, and technical correspondence.
• Provide regular progress updates to the Project/Delivery Manager.
• Identify potential schedule constraints or technical issues and escalate them promptly.
• Ensure vendor activities comply with project specifications, approved procedures, quality requirements, and HSE standards.

Role Purpose

The Junior Project Engineer - Electrical will be based at site and support the Project/Delivery team in coordinating electrical vendor activities, inspections, testing, and Client interfaces.
