Job summary

Accenture Middle East is seeking a qualified Employment Lawyer to join the Employment Law Team within CORE in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on advisory and litigation support across HR, employee relations, and compliance projects for a diverse client base.

You will work with internal stakeholders and external counsel on outsourcing, M&A, industrial relations, and guidance on rising employment-law issues, delivering strategic, pragmatic solutions and practical guidance.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience in Employment Law.
• Experience in both private practice and in-house settings preferred.
• Approximately 10 years post-qualification experience.
• English proficiency for oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic Employment Law advice to HR, Employee Relations, and Leadership.
• Oversee litigation and pre-litigation matters with internal and external counsel.
• Support transactional matters including outsourcing deals and staff transitions.
• Advise on Mergers & Acquisitions and joint ventures with due diligence and integration.
• Guide industrial relations and collective bargaining matters.
• Develop internal guidelines and knowledge resources for Employment Law regionally.

The Employment Law Team sits within the Compliance, Offerings, Regulatory & Ethics (CORE) function within Legal, and offers the full range of Employment Law services from advisory and litigation support on HR (Human Resources) and Employee Relations issues to implementing compliance projects and supporting transactional matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting into the Employment Law Lead, this is an exciting opportunity to work directly with key stakeholders across a workload that is both interesting and varied:

• Provide strategic and pragmatic Employment Law advice on a wide range of advisory matters to key internal stakeholders – including Human Resources, Employee Relations, Inclusion and Diversity, Total Rewards, Mobility, Mobilization and Leadership.
• Oversee and provide support for litigation and pre-litigation matters, in conjunction with Employee Relations team and external counsel.
• Provide operational and strategic support for transactional matters:
• Outsourcing – negotiating and advising on contractual aspects of outsourcing deals including risk management and transition of staff into (and out from) Accenture.
• Ventures & Acquisitions – negotiating and advising on Mergers and Acquisition/joint venture deals, including due diligence, deal execution and post-merger integration support.
• Advise on industrial relations and collective bargaining issues, particularly collective consultation requirements.
• Contribute to development of internal guidelines, toolkits, and packaged knowledge on Employment Law and business issues for the region.
• Manage and oversee external counsel relationships with law firms as appropriate, including budget management.
• Stay abreast of legal developments impacting on Accenture, its clients, and industries and incorporate it into company practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience within an Employment Law team, in private practice and/or – ideally – in an in-house environment.

Work Experience: We anticipate hiring a candidate with a minimum of around 10 years post qualification experience, but we will review applications from all levels of post qualification experience.
