Emergency Response Planning Officer

As an Emergency Response Planning Officer, your role is to support the on‑going design, implementation, maintenance and quality review of the crisis program, ensuring a robust Emirates? response to a major accident or incident anywhere across the route network which includes the humanitarian and logistical response including a number of complex processes involving people and systems.

Recruit and train humanitarian responders to ensure they respond effectively and professionally in any emergency with complete knowledge of their responsibilities and duties.

In this role, you will:
  • Research, design, develop and deliver an effective humanitarian (emcare) Responder team (training and exercises), meeting international standards for effective delivery.
  • Research and create a repository of case studies on emergency response to aviation incidents and disasters, including all areas of response, e,g, Airport, Family Assistance Centre, Telephone Enquiry Centre, media response etc. for use across all ERP training courses
  • Conduct learning needs analysis and feedback to ensure that resulting programs remain relevant, current, accurate, and focussed with on‑going analysis to allow timely schedules and appropriate follow‑up.
  • Support in the development and training of key departments where there is an integral alignment with the humanitarian team and its processes, such as Service Delivery.
  • Assist in the process design, review, training and ongoing management of data collection from the Airport Humanitarian Reception Centres to the humanitarian team and emcare.
  • Support in the management of the 24 x 7 Rosters for the emcare Leadership and other defined response roles and ensure emergency telephone numbers, used for the Telephone Enquiry Centre during an activation, are tested and remain in a constant state of readiness.
  • Utilising Emirates available data, identify opportunities and drive the emcare member requirements.
  • Support ERP Specialists with the development of new processes, both automated and manual, and be responsible for documenting after‑action‑reviews post exercises, incident activation and support with follow‑up on findings closure.
  • Support in the design and implementation of regular Telephone Enquiry Centre and Family Assistance Centre exercises, ensuring best practice is adopted and minimum frequency requirements are met. Ensure feedback is captured, reviewed, documented and agreed actions and improvements are incorporated within the program.
  • Be responsible for the IT equipment, stored within the Telephone Enquiry Centre facility, which is deployed as part of the initial Go Team and immediately raising any faults with IT.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Experience in Airport Services, Commercial, Operations or other relevant area of which at least 2 years should ideally be in the field of emergency planning.
  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
