Job summary

GULBAHAR in Dubai (JAFZA) seeks an Electrical Technician to conduct electrical tests and inspections, maintain circuits and components, ensure proper grounding, and install or repair outlets, lighting, switches and wiring on cigarette manufacturing equipment. You will support preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, supervise external vendors, and help keep SCADA and control centers running safely.

A Diploma in Electrical Engineering and 5–10 years of experience in cigarette manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in cigarette manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Electrical supply and functional knowledge about developing/maintaining industrial electrical plants.
• Experience with electrical testing, inspections, grounding and wiring.
• Ability to read electrical and electronic circuit diagrams and blueprints.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and distribution infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation of equipment, including industrial motor controls, pumps, and SCADA.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and upgrade of the Water Supply Division’s electrical distribution infrastructure.
• Carry out thermography of electrical distribution panels and motor control centers.
• Troubleshoot problems by gathering and analyzing power quality data.
• Ensure longer life of obsolete equipment and save funds by detailed troubleshooting down to component levels.
• Perform maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of building circuits, alarm systems, and related control equipment.
• Prepare reports, maintain records, and supervise external vendors.

Job Summary

Electrical Technician will be responsible for conducting electrical tests and inspections, maintaining electrical components such as contacts and circuit boards, ensuring proper grounding, and installing or repairing outlets, lighting fixtures, switches, and wiring. The role also includes supporting preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting electrical and machine-related faults, and carrying out timely repairs to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of cigarette manufacturing machinery and facility electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation of equipment. applied by industrial motor controls, chemical feed systems, pump drives, and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and upgrade of the Water Supply Division’s electrical distribution infrastructure.
• Carry out thermography of electrical distribution panels and motor control
• Troubleshoot problems by gathering and analyzing power quality data.
• Ensure longer life of obsolete equipment and save funds by carrying out detailed troubleshooting down to component levels.
• Perform maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of control centers, de-energized higher voltage equipment, and 480-volt motors.
• Repair and maintain engine generators and carry out work on related control circuit equipment.
• Carry out maintenance, repair, and installation of building circuits and similar equipment.
• Perform maintenance of alarm and SCADA systems, electrical pneumatic and electronic controls, programmable controls, and other similar equipment.
• Carry out necessary carpentry, welding, valve repair, cement, and pipe fitting work.
• Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts.
• Inspect and supervise work done by external vendors.
• Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems.
• Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems.
• Install safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
• Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
• Perform other tasks and accountabilities as assigned by the line manager.

• Be proactive at all the time while in the shift and make sure no hazards in the Electrical line.
• Ensure that set up all the machine function properly and working fine.
• Able to plan, organize and deliver results in time to meet deadlines.

Skillset

• Effective communication, including speaking, writing, active listening of Technical Code & Command.
• Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent mechanical skills, including comfort with using tools to make wide repairing skills.
• Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
• Ability to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.

Experience

• 5-10 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in the Same field of Cigarette Manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Electrical supply and Functional knowledge about developing /maintain industrial Electrical Plant.

Education

• Associate’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
